Tiryaki Agro COO Bahadır Açık evaluated food security and sustainable growth at the HBR Azərbaycan Sustainability Summit.
Held under the theme “Action, Impact and Value: Redefining Sustainability,” the Harvard Business Review (HBR) Azərbaycan Sustainability Summit brought together leading representatives of the business world. The summit focused on the importance of measurable, results-driven actions that move sustainability beyond discourse and into implementation.
Tiryaki Agro COO Bahadır Açık participated as a speaker in the special session titled “Food Security, Sustainability and the New Growth Paradigm,” moderated by Serdar Turan, Editor-in-Chief of HBR Azərbaycan.
During the session, Bahadır Açık shared insights on the multi-layered transformation of agriculture and supply chains shaped by the climate crisis, geopolitical disruptions and growing food security risks. He highlighted the need to balance increasing production with more efficient resource use, and shared concrete examples from Tiryaki Agro’s operations including technology-driven water management practices that enabled measurable water savings and significant productivity gains at field level while outlining the company’s approach to sustainable growth across the value chain, from agriculture to energy.
